Boosting your Fertility Naturally
Hi friends,
If you found yourself searching endlessly for help on hormones and fertility, I feel you. I’ve been there. This has since been a big passion of mine. I didn’t know our story would take the turn that it did, and in the middle of the struggle I was truly hurting. I wanted to get pregnant and thought I was broken. However, now I can look back and see beauty even in the waiting. Wherever you are in your family planning, cherish today. You never know what tomorrow could bring.
That being said, I want this blog to be an encouragement to you. I want to share 5 things that I did naturally that I believe helped with regulating my hormones and increasing my fertility.
There is a lot out there when you start down the rabbit hole of all things fertility. I am more of a natural minded momma for several reasons, but one of them has to do with my auto immune disease.
After a year of walking through secondary infertility, my OBGYN prescribed me clomid. This is a pill that basically induces ovulation to help the chance of getting pregnant. However, after two months I was worried about potential side effects and quit the medication. Therefore, I went back to the drawing board.
Fortunate for me, because of my auto immune, I had already done some research on trying to get my body in its optimal state for healing. Now I was trying to do the same for pregnancy.
Here are my go to recommendations if you are trying to balance out your hormones and start a family.
Ditch Hormone Disrupters
There are dozens of ingredients in everything. Candles, shampoo, perfume, cleaning spray, etc. Anything we put in our homes and on our bodies can impact our health. Fertility has gone down, while products and the ingredients lists in those products have gone up.
I was throwing away all things artificial, dangerous, un natural, you name it. I mean, think for a moment… “artificial” means fake. These are made up substances that are used and sprayed and put on our bodies. Our skin is the largest organ we have and although we may not be eating these things but we are “ingesting” them in a different way.
I started with all things Young Living since it seemed like a one stop shop. Also - all my candles were gone so we went hard on the diffusers and natural oils. I also started using Progessense Plus, one of YL’s oils, morning and night every single day. It’s for women, for hormones and it smells amazing. You can get that here: https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/referral/20640620
This also included our clothing. I know this can seem daunting, but a quick search on polyester will convince you. I couldn’t afford a new wardrobe so I started with the basics. I recommend quince.com for organic undergarments for a great cost.
2. Eat Nourishing Foods
When I was trying to heal myself of my autoimmune, I was aiming to eat a low inflammatory diet. I researched to no end and landed on doing an animal based diet and let me tell you - I. Felt. Amazing. This eating plan needs to be complete with the organ supplements since that is a vital part of the nutrition you receive. I went with heart and soil supplements and found out that they have a “Her Package.” A blend specifically designed to help with optimizing fertility. I saw dozens of reviews where women claimed they took it and it helped them get pregnant! I for one, think it helped me too. Not only did it help balance out my hormones, and help with fertility, but I had minimal to no cramps while on my period. I felt strong and healthy.
I know this can be a bit of a cost. But I wasn’t taking a bunch of other supplements. I focused on getting all my nutrients FROM food and paring with just this one supplement.

3. Minimize Radiation
During my health journey I found an incredible doctor out of California who shared with me some basics on nutrition, detoxing and radiation. One of the things he highly recommended while trying to get pregnant was to avoid and protect against radiation as much as possible.
This is something most of us aren’t aware of because we can’t see it. But just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not real. And radiation is everywhere. Coming from our phones, electronics, plug ins, and the huge 5g towers that are now all over our communities.
Easy things you can do that don’t cost money would be to ditch the microwave, sleep in another room away from your phone, minimize electronics, and turn off the wifi at night. We did end up getting stickers for our phone to help reduce the radiation since that seemed to be the one device we had more often. Take a break from devices as much as possible. It is freeing.
4. Evaluate your Body as a Whole
During my time of trying to get pregnant I was receiving these injections in my eye (yes, my eye) to help with my autoimmune. I was doing it because it’s what the doctor recommended and for awhile there, I never thought twice about it possibly impacting my fertility. That’s when I asked him “Is there any way these shots could be impacting my trying to get pregnant.” To which he replied “There is no research that shows that.”
However, that must also mean the inverse. There is no research showing that it doesn’t. I politely asked if I could take a break from the shots and he agreed. Less than 6 months later I was pregnant. I’m not at all saying this was the solution. But I do think it’s naive to think that we can be taking a pill or getting a shot or putting something in and on our body without it impacting our fertility. Our body is A BODY. Meaning every part is connected. Our body works as one system, not separate compartments. And often, things do come with side effects.
I would recommend taking a look at everything you’re body is going through as a whole. Do you see a doctor for something else and could there be a correlation? Look into medications and don’t be afraid to have conversations with your doctors!
5. Reduce Your Stress and Pray
They all say “you’re just too stressed” - which honestly, was always so annoying to hear, but sometimes it is true. I know it can feel like it’s all your fault if your not conceiving, but remember that sperm counts are down too. Make sure to check in with your husbands health also.
I will say, during this time I left my full-time job, did more life giving things, traveled and fell in love with my life again.
I cherished this season even though it was hard, and it brought me closer to the Lord.
In the final months before we got pregnant, after 1.5 years of trying, I did something I had never done in my walk with God. I wrote out a decree.
A decree is a prayer that aligns with the Word of God and speaks into existence the things of God. I proclaimed that my womb would be “fruitful and multiply” and I declared sickness, disease, and infertility would be gone in Jesus name. I read this out-loud every day for months. It not only came to pass because we did get pregnant, but it came as a DOUBLE rainbow. We ended up adopting a baby that year and giving birth 6 months later.
I got back to back miracle baby boys. This decree lifted my spirits. This is part of our testimony.
God delivered, and I know He can for you too.
God gets the Glory. Be whole and healthy.
Sincerely,
Heidi
