The Meaning of Avanelle
Avanelle
(av-uh-nel)
My husband and I were just dating when we were dreaming of a family. We knew we would get married, and we already had a list of names for our future children. He’s a creative, and I’ll admit that I love being unique, so we knew that the names of our children needed to be extra special.
My husband had one grandparent still alive at the time and her middle name was Avanelle. I was immediately in love with the name. I mean, I knew NO ONE with that name. And it is so beautiful.
Fast forward, our daughter is now 5, and we never cease to get compliments and questions about her name. I’ve even had one mom casually mention that they might steal this name for their future daughter.
Of course, at the time Avanelle was born we didn’t know the meaning of the name until my dad mentioned it a couple years later. I had never thought much about the meaning. I just thought it was beautiful.
There can sometimes be contradicting information out there for the meanings of names and if I’m honest, I sometimes wonder who comes up with this stuff? But regardless, I now believe there is power in the meaning of a name. After all, the Bible is even filled with a long list of world changers who were named very intentionally. Jesus even gave Simon a new name. Peter. He became the rock that Christ built His church on. A name is a powerful spoken decree.
Avanelle means to live. Her name means to breathe.
Is there anything better?
I love the way the mom junction blog puts it. In this blog we read of the Acrostic Poem around the name Avanelle.

Our daughter was born in February of 2020, and after that moment, I was forever changed. No longer responsible for myself, but this little life, I got serious about every decision. I took care and pride in finding the best and being the best for her. Little did I know that the months and years following would be so transformational.
Fast forward to now, and I’ve got a passion to share what I’ve learned/am learning with a broader audience. I’ve spent the last decade pastoring the next generation and now I am raising the next generation.
Come along with me to this place where we talk about the lifestyle of a pastor mom who cares deeply about honoring Christ while raising her family. You’ll find all things mind + body + soul here.
God gets the Glory. Be whole and healthy.
Sincerely,
Heidi
